How strong the evidence is
Animal data
Thymosin β4 reached human trials for wounds and dry eye; the shortened fragment sold as TB-500 did not. Everything claimed for it rests on animal work.

The bar is derived from these five facts, not set by hand. Human study counts follow the weekly PubMed refresh; the rest change only when a trial is published or a regulator acts.
How strong the effect is
strength 2 of 5 · weight 0.33
Noticeable but modest
A fragment — weaker than full-length Tβ4.
What's unique
Acts on cell migration rather than cell growth — it moves repair cells rather than making more of them.
Unexpected positive evidence
Cardiac tissue studies showed vessel formation well outside the injured area.

Benefits

actin regulation that lets cells migrate into a wound and rebuild structure
Tissue repair · from week 2
faster repair of muscle, tendon, and connective tissue after strain or surgery
Tissue repair · from week 2
greater flexibility with less adhesion and scar-tissue formation
Tissue repair · from week 2
angiogenesis and improved circulation through injured or fibrotic areas
Tissue repair · from week 2
anti-inflammatory action across joints, gut, and cornea
Tissue repair · from week 2
support for hair-follicle and cardiac tissue regeneration
Tissue repair · from week 2

Timeline

Days 1–7
Little happens outwardly. Some report reduced stiffness on waking and slightly easier movement through a limited range. Do not judge it this early.
Weeks 2–4
Mobility and flexibility improve first, before pain does. Scar tissue feels less binding, and areas that felt "stuck" start moving through fuller range.
Weeks 4–8
The systemic window. Soft-tissue repair, tendon glide, and recovery between training sessions all improve together. Effects reach further from the injury site than BPC-157 does.
Post-cycle
Gains hold well — remodelled tissue stays remodelled. Flexibility can regress if mobility work stops, but the structural change does not undo itself.

Risks

Short-term
Transient fatigue in the loading fortnight; injection-site swelling.
Long-term
Angiogenesis is not selective. Anyone with an undiagnosed tumour is taking a real risk.
Tolerance & withdrawal
Loading then maintenance is standard; no withdrawal described.

Dosing

Dose
2–10 mg per injection
Loading sits at 5 mg, maintenance at roughly half — few run the top of the range.
Route
Subcutaneous — abdomen, away from the injured area
Site barely matters; it distributes systemically, so rotate for comfort.
Timing
Any time of day; evening is the habit for most
Nobody reports a timing difference — pick the day you will remember.
Frequency
1–2× a week — the long half-life covers the gaps
Twice weekly is the default; once weekly is enough on maintenance.
Cycle
4–6 weeks loading, then maintenance or a break
The loading block is where the effect is built; maintenance only holds it. Most stop entirely once the injury is quiet.
Duration
Cycled
Almost nobody runs this year-round — it is bought for a specific injury and dropped after.

Forms

injectable
